Corals not growing and proper way to raise nutrient levels
Ive been running the zeovit system for 7 months now and none of the corals have shown any signs of growth yet.. I think my tank is too clean and maybe im starving them... Was wondering what is the proper way of raising the nutrient levels in my tank..? Do I
A) Run the skimmer less
B)Run the flow through the Zeo Reactor on a timer (3hrs on and 3hrs off)
C)Feed Reef Chili or Coral Frenzy more often
Or D) Increase my dosages of the zeo blue bottles ?
Gross water volume of your complete system 112 gallons
2. Net water volume - maybe 90 gallons
3. Are you using a CaCO2 reactor - No
4. Are you using a PO4 reactor - No
5. Are you using Ozone- No
6. Are you using UV- No
7. What skimmer are you using - dont know the name but its rated for 100gallons
8. What are your actual PO4 and NO3 levels- PO= 0.00, NO =5
9. What are your actual Ca, Alk and Mg levels...CA 430,Alk 7.9, Mag 1280-1320
10. What filtration method do you use - Filter socks
11. Type of light - 2 Hydra 52s
12. What corals do you keep- 10 sps sticks, 6 different types of zoas with at least 4 polyps each,1 RBTA, 1 Torch, 1 plating Monti and 1 encrusting Monti
13. Tissue color (light or dark)- Not light or dark
14. How long has the tank been running- 8 months ,but full Zeo for 7 months
15. Why do you want to use the ZEOvit system- beautiful sps tanks I see online
16. Any supplemental dosing - Reef Energy A &B ( I had 2 brand new bottles)
17. Live rock - about 50lbs i guess
18. Any present problems- mulm on rocks (gonna turn flow up one notch on my return pump to help get rid of this)
19. Problem description - none of corals are growing
20. What test kit do you use- Hannah for PO and Cal..salifert for Mag
21. Present dosing, amounts and intervals
Monday- Zeostart .2ml, ReefEnergy A&B 1ml each, Coral Snow 2ml, Zeofood 1 drop, Zeobak 2 drops
Tuesday- Zeozym 1/2 ts + biomate 4 drops, Spongepower 3 drops, LPS amino 1ml
Wednesday- Zstart .2ml, Coral Snow 2ml, Reef energy 1ml each, Coral Vitalizer 3 drops
Thursday- Zstart .2ml, Zfood 1 drop, Zbak 2 drops
Friday- Zstart .2ml, ZZ + Biomate 4 drops, Spongepower 2 drops, Reef Chili 1 level scoop
Saturday- Zstart .2ml, Reef Energy 1 ml each, Coral Snow 2ml, Coral Vitalizer 3 drops
Sunday- Zstart .2ml, Lps Amino 1ml, Coral Vitalizer 3 drops
22. Other water parameters and water stability- 1.025 salinity, temp is 79-80 ,and PH is 8.27-8.43 using Apex controller
23. Which salt brand do you use -Red Sea blue bucket
Thanks Again for anyones Help much appreciated

I would continue skimming wet. Corals grow better in higher oxygen levels. Its been studied.
So your saying none of your corals incrusted the bases at all. Are you sure?

How many fish are in the tank?
I would up the LPS aa to 2ml everyday
aside from feeding reef chilli daily you can rise your alkalinity to 10-12 dkh and your use kalkwasser to turbo charge your corals.

Not too many.. 1 pyramid butterfly, 4 blue chromis, 1 sand goby, 1 yellow tang, 1 sixline wrasse, and 2 baby clownfish.... Ill up the LPS aa to 2ml and do more feedings with reef chili and see what happens after a few weeks .. Thank You

When was the last time water was changed? What is the potassium level?

I just recently purchased k+ and a test kit from brs..prolly arrives in a few days after reading up on things..BUT i consistently do 10% water changes weekly and figured that would be sufficient enough.. I know the red sea blue bucket has low magnesium @ 1.025 so I dose mag right after I do a change..and then I test after a few hrs of the change ..

Most of the salt mixtures on the market, potassium is usually not enough. K+~380-400 mg. Potassium = coral health, polyp growth, PE extension, coral color. Also remember to "slowly" raise the level. It's hard to say why corals don't grow. Let's see if this improves.

[Low malnourished water quality / well-balanced elements / suitable spectrum] roughly the main axis.
This spindle remains stable. When the corals acquired this spindle condition, the corals grew wildly, and the appearance of the corals began to change, such as: light tissue, good PE, polyps.
and the elements start to consume

I would also be interested in the K+ level, another problem can be the lighting spectrum, which kind of carbon do you use ? In the meantime you can try to increase the water changes for 2 weeks doing 10% water change twice a week. This will refresh elements in a balanced way.

I have no practical experience with the lighting and activated carbon that you mentioned, so I can't say anything.
It is recommended to use Zeo KB or Zeo KB Strong alone to slowly increase potassium to 380 mg.
I can't say that the blue sea salt in the Red Sea is not good. I use the best salt from the Zeo brand, which is suitable for low Kh / Ca / potassium.
Some bad activated carbon may cause aggressive effects on coral tissue and inhibit coral growth. I can't tell you why. I use the activated carbon of the Zeo brand, which is very good. It is also recommended for you to use.
We can correct these two factors first - potassium and activated carbon
1. Slowly increase potassium to 380 mg
2. Replace the water to refresh the balance and replace the activated carbon to the Zeo brand. (If the problem of coral growth does not come from activated carbon, then even after replacing the water, the problem still exists, so I suggest you do both)。 Refresh element balance and eliminate causes
