New diamond 535 reeftank

Hello guys,

After a total crash I decided to buy a new aquarium. It has become a Diamond line 535. Container capacity of 395L and the sump is 140 liters.
Today I have installed water, salt, sand and all technology. Water temperature is now 25 degrees Celsius.
I have gone through the 14 day cycle, are there any adjustments that I need to make? There is nothing left on for 3 hours and 3 hours off for your reactor. Can you help me?!

Carefully test carbonate hardness and salinity. If the basic water parameters are within the recommended range, more corals can now be added to the system. Additional fish can be added but should be very slow.

You can add the first herbivore fish (up to 2 per 200 liters), as well as sea urchins and turbine snails.

Add activated carbon now.

Activated carbon:
Once the first batch of animals is placed in the system, add activated carbon as recommended: 0.5-1 liter per 1000 liters. Replacement intervals are 30 days.( It is recommended to use Zeo's activated carbon)

At this stage, biology is not very stable.

Starting on day 14:

ZeoBac 1 drop / 100 liters / 25 US gallons 2-3 times a week
Sponge powder 1 drop / 100 liters / 25 US gallons
ZeoStart 0.1 ml / 100 liters / 25 US gallons 2 x daily

It is recommended to start regular water change 5~10% from the 4th week to the 6th week.

Guideline recommended water quality parameters
Kh 6.5~7.5
Ca 400~420
Mg 1250~1300
K+ 380~400

And test the NP level value, pay attention to it

Usually the first time you replace ZeoVit material 90% after 4 weeks, then the malnourished water quality can be extended to 6~8 weeks.

Zeo Bac 1 drop = 25 US gallons x 10 days after each change of ZeoVit material

After replacing ZeoVit material for 90% for the first time, ZeoBac x10 days, about 2 weeks, if the coral adapts well and healthy, switch the reactor to continuous flow

Its a new start, new tank, and new living stones. I cant added fish at this time, because ammonia and nitrite will come. Is the first 14 days of the guide good then o follow yours suggedtion?

In my impression, if you follow the standard doses in the guidelines, usually starting at 10 days, NH3/4, NO2 is usually not tested, then for confirmation, you can get NO2 test agent (subjective discrimination). or wait for the algae to subside (objective judgment)

If NO2 is not tested, then you can try to choose some herbivorous functional animals, then not too much

Also, if you can, post basic information about the Tank, which is fine.

Dutch010 05-30-2019 11:16 AM

And What about the 3 hours on and off with the zeoreactor? I read in forums to do this but not in the 14 days cycle zeovit

If it is a newly created Tank, you usually do not need to use 3 open 3

3 open 3 off, used for system conversion, and when coral animals exist in Tank

3 open 3 levels, I identified it as a buffer interval between the system and coral animals, allowing coral animals to adapt slowly (because ZeoVit materials and flow reduce nutrients)

If there are corals, especially new systems, new ZeoVit materials, special care should be taken to avoid too fast, because ZeoVit materials are particularly "new" and bacteria have not yet developed, and biology is not very good

If you can, I suggest you post the basic details about your tank, which will be better.

There is a relationship between the amount of water and the amount of material and Zeo dose.

Whether to use unsuitable objects/methods, etc.

Through basic information, everyone, G.Alexander, can help you move in the right way, which can avoid unnecessary problems.

As it is a fresh system which does not contain animals already you can start the cycle as Jacky has mention, some additional information over here:

https://zeovit.com/forums/showpost.p...60&postcount=7

The 3 hour on / off interval for the reactor is used for system which are stocked with animals already which the transfer to a nutrient poor system. In your case run the reactor with continuous flow. For a net water volume of 500 liters use 1.25 liters ZeoVit with a constant reactor flow of ~ 500 liters per hour.

Use the net water volume to calculate the dosage

No algae to be seen yet. Before the process you want to see algae and then you know that something is happening. Perhaps this is what you might call a good start-up. Hey is po4 en no3 rising, no fish or something in the tank .....

Hi Jacky
At the bottom of the reef bones lay 4kg live rock, that comes from the lfs and that has been there for a while. Since the export ban from Indonesia, it is impossible to get fresh live stone. Nh3 / 4 and No2 is not measurable, by the way

Today i measured on day 8 a little bit of Nh3 / 4 and No2
