Please cross check salinity with a different, accurate instrument, the elevated basic water parameters might indicate a higher salinity.

How much ZeoVit material do you have exactly running and what is the reactor flow (measured) ?

Please also tell us which kind of carbon you use and what the net water volume of the complete system is.

Default Growth

Hi g thanks for response, crossed checked salinity and Im getting 1.026 on hanna and around 1.025 on refractometer,my salinity usually is 1.025 on hanna and around 1.024 on refractometer it is slightly higher than I normally keep but not by much Im using around 0.75lt of stones flow is 1ltr in 13 sec
I was running around 0.65ltr of stones at 12sec per ltr.but when I reviewed dosage at stone change time I realised I was short on stone dosage.do you think this is the issue, since running the 0.75ltr of stones po4 has been stable 0.009ppm or 3ppb,where as when running running 0.65ltr of stones po4 was around 10 to 12ppb,I did consider if the po4 reduction is the main factor in coral colour and growth so have been adding aa and cv to try to compensate,I do not have a par meter to check par levels of lighting,k is 400

Ow nearly forgot I run kz carbon passively in sump around 100grams changed around once a month

Thanks, still missing the total net water volume of the system.

Thank you I can not see anything causing a problem so far, which kind of carbon do you use, how much and do you run it in a reactor ?

Which kind of skimmer do you have running ?

Do you already own products like XTra, CoralBooster etc ?

Hi g,I removed the block of marine pure I had in the system since start up.my theory is that by removing this will increase nitrate by how much I dont know, but now zeovit is established I dont expect it to rise much, over the next few weeks I will not dose any foods just dosing the basics sp,ZB,bm,until I see how the tank reacts to the removal,I should say that I did find the marine pure very fragile it has been in the tank 7months so basically I believe in other peoples statements that marine pure blocks do not work well in zeo system even though the block is full of life,I will measure po4 and no3 3 times a week to monitor

Lets try to dose 3 ml XTra every other day for a week to see if that does darken the corals tissue a little bit.

Do corals that are added recently also getting lighter tissue or are just corals affected you have in the system since a longer period ?

How much time has passed since you have removed the marine pure ?

Default Growth

Its only been 5 days since marine pure removal.po4 0.012 or 4ppb no3 undectable.
NOt sure iF I am seeiNg thiNgs but sure pUrpLE is comming back I will start g recommendations 3ml xtra every other day,I am suprised not to see a bigger increase of po4 and no3 I will be happy if remain at this level.some coral still seem a bit washed out,Im considering removing the kz purple and adding another atintic but will wait a month or two to see if any improvement
I should add that polyp extension has retracted on some corals slightly concerning as they always had full polyp extension before

A actinic light will not really change the coloration of the coral, it is just a optical effect so if you like to get more blue spectrum (not to much) it might be better to add a additional blue bulb.

Might also be a good time now to do two or three water changes within a shorter period.
