Default ZZ and BM question

I typically will not use ZZ and BM a day or close to a day that I did my water change. Does it matter either way?

This is a good question, I want to know. So why do you think that using ZZ BM is not close to changing the water, can you tell me what you think, thank you

My thoughts are ZZ and BM help increase skimming. Since a water change takes a good amount out of what gets skimmed, it might be a waste?

I understand what you mean, then I have an idea, then whether you need skimmer. If only for "water", WC is only a small part, and ZZ BM is improved for the entire tank. Unless you are 100% WC. This is just my idea, I don't know if it is right or not.

Another idea, or change it on the previous day (turn off skimmer, let the material make full use) and then WC. Is this better?

Maybe ZZ may take a while to work and it will be better.

It should not play a role however I have personally not dosed products which have improved the skimming process at the same day of a water change.
