Default Phosphate

I know we are not supposed to run GFO reactor, noticed my phosphates were a little high. Recommendations?

I do weekly weekly changes and follow the regiment given to me by the team here. Includes ZZ and BM...

I dont trust my Hanna Checker

When my phosphates were rising I increased my dosage of Zeostart3 for a while, I increased it by 30%. I also double-checked the flow through my reactor and found that it was a little low. After I corrected that everything went back to the correct values. Then I decreased dosage of ZS3 to normal

Just some food for thought

Blackizzz said it was great, and I don't know the dose of other potions, such as: AA excess, or new tank, properly adjust skimmer wet.

Had the lfs test phosphate with their tester. They have something similar to the Hanna but little better. Forget the brand but looks like the Milwaukee Refractometer but gray. Either way it was close to 1. Hanna was the closest and Salifert was way off (not expired).

Did water change last night 35 gallons for the 90 gallon tank, shut off dosing except for Zeo items (but shut down zeo pohls extra). So zeostart 3 .8ml daily, songpower 4 drops at night and zeo am drops at night (both of these every other night). Sept 23 new zeo stones. Sept 9 zeo carbon (needs replaced).

Going to make a mixture of ZZ with BM today. Am I missing anything else? Know not allowed to run GFO...

Water making filters are good and 0 on the reader.

Thanks in advance

This is the line from the Zeovit Forum.

Please give us the answers to the following questions for more accurate dose recommendations.

1. Total water volume of the entire system (including oil sump, etc.) - US gallons / imperial gallons / liters
2. Water purification (including oil sump, etc.) - US gallons / imperial gallons / liters
3. Are you using a CaCO2 reactor or other technology?
You are using the PO4 reactor (how long, how long ago, etc.)
Are you using ozone?
Are you using ultraviolet light?
7. What skimmers do you use (model, rated water)
8. What is your actual PO4 and NO3 level?
9. What is your actual Ca, Alk and Mg content?
10. What filtering method do you use (refugium, DSB, Miracle Mud, etc.)
11. Type of light (watt, color temperature, how big, etc.)
What coral do you keep?
13. Tissue color (light or dark)
14. How long has the tank been running?
15. Why use the ZEOvit system?
16. Any supplemental dose (type, quantity, cause, etc.)
17. Live rock (how much, how big, etc.)
18. Any existing issues
19. Description of the problem (deletion of tissue, tissue loss basis, algae, algae, etc.)
20. What test kit do you use (how old, recently switched, etc.)
21. Current dose, quantity and interval (ZEOvit, ZEObak, ZEOfood, ZEOstart, ZEOspur2, etc.)
22. Other water parameters and water stability (salinity, temperature, etc.)
23. Which salt brand do you use?

I know there are many problems. Please be as detailed as possible (honest) and be always on hand to explain anything you think might be important.

Doing ZZ and BM today Currently cooking

I have also attached a word version of below that has better formatting.

Thanks for your help and let me know if any questions.
Shawn

1. Gross water volume of your complete system (incl. sump etc.) - US gallons / UK gallons / liter
100 US Gallons ?
2. Net water volume (incl. sump etc.) - US gallons / UK gallons / liter
90 US Gallons ?
3. Are you using a CaCO2 reactor or other technique

https://www.nyos.info/en/abschumer-...er/quantum-160
Skimmer shut down for 2 hours when running ZZ & BM solution at least once a week (try for 2, however due to weekly water changes, it does not often work out times 2)
Will shut down skimmer when dosing Fuel and/or Pohl Xtra (currently this dosing is off. Think I was over dosing and this is leading to my problem. Fuel was just added about a month ago.
00:15 to 4:45 = Skimmer daily off schedule to match Fuel and Pohl primary dosing
8. What are your actual PO4 and NO3 levels
Completed 35 +/- US Gallon Water Change last night. Following results are based on tests today.
PO4 =
Salifert Expires 06/2019
a. Looks .5 (can never read these color ones right)
Hanna ppb Expires 09/2019 (ppb x 3.066 / 1000 = ppm)
a. 200 ppb flashing so will not read correctly since way to high
NO3 =
Salifert Expires 05/2020
a. Looks 0 or very slightly pink (defiantly not the 2 which is next to it on the tester page)

12. What corals do you keep
Mixed Reef
13. Tissue color (light or dark)
Noticed some parts of a few SPS turning light along with some of the issues with Hammers and torches. Did lose an SPS recently also had a few hammer heads and torches died and brown jelly on torch that I have had for years..
14. How long has the tank been running
November 2016?
15. Why do you want to use the ZEOvit system
Honestly with issues I have had with tank and lack of people around that can help, I question using it. Only reason I do is afraid if system crashed. Nothing against the system, it is just easier to talk to people around you and match systems for help.

Thank you, very detailed message, I am not a professional, this is my small suggestion.

Some products I have not used the experience, let us temporarily or reduce the addition, Lps food energy source let us first give with T5 tube.

Start by reducing nutrition

90 US gallons = 337.5L

Algae do grow due to nutrients, so I expect PO4 to be detectable.

In any case, the tank takes time. I suggest you add a herbivore like a snail and manually remove the algae with a brush. As a support, you can take an additional 3.5ml every other day, CoralSnow for a while.Skimmer adjusts wet, siphon cleans sand

The flow through the zeovit reactor was also measured and water was collected from the filter outlet for 30 seconds using a separate small container. Multiply the volume by 120 and you will get an hourly output. Run the reactor continuously.

If the water volume is 337.5 liters, I recommend continuing the administration as follows:

ZeoBac - 2 times a week, 3 drops
ZeoStart - 0.35ml per day, morning/night.
SpongePower - 3 drops per day for the next 4 weeks.

A 0.75 liter ZeoVit was run through the reactor at a flow rate of about 335 liters per hour.

0.3 liters of activated carbon was placed in a filter bag and placed in a passive stream of water in the oil sump and replaced every 30 days. Rub the carbon every day to keep the surface clean. Most users get the perfect result with korallenzucht carbon.

Thank you for the advice.

I am currently replacing the carbon (zeo carbon 1 cup in boiling RO water for 24 hours). Picture below is my carbon reactor and zeo reactor. Flow has been measured and fine. I shake the stones 2 times a day and run the pump on the recommended cycle. They are offset per the recommendation.

My algae is under control... I have snails, urchin etc...

My problem is the high phosphates. I think reason for my torches having issues along with hammers loosing heads. Along with a few sps outline above.

Ok. I have Snow. Will run some of that tomorrow after the ZZ and BM tonight.

I know that we should not drop phosphate too fast or it will create another issue. Not sure if this would be to quick or not...

Thanks

It is recommended to treat Zeo Coral Snow, and vacuum the siphon sand when changing water, Skimmer adjusts the wet, see the changes in PO4, and try BM if you like.

Remember that too fast nutrients are reduced, stress on corals, and slowly adapting corals to customary environments

If you prefer, when PO4 is high, temporarily stop the addition of amino acids, such as AA.

Xtra Special for very low malnutrition environments, reducing dose addition, may be a good thing

In general, LPS, my concept relies on light sources, bacteria, plankton, enough to provide food for their growth.

The food you add to add supplements can be slightly reduced.

It is usually supplemented with nutrients and added more meaning in a low malnutrition environment.

I like your tank, the concept of nature, really beautiful

ZeoBac - 3 drops every other day
Zeostart - 0.35 x 2 x per day
SpongePower - 3 drops per day
BioMate - 6 drops the next day

This dose should not have an adverse effect on the coral.
