Thumbs up Avast Vibe is quality product A+++

I put mine together and have had it online now for a month. I changed the rocks out and had a little water spill (my fault). In the future I see an easy maintenance task to perform. I may try to make a video of my changeover next time.

I have mine set to vibe for 1 minute every six hours. When I watch it happens I see a good amount of mulm get up and out to my system. I also have my apex shut off the skimmer for a half hour once it vibes, I feel this allows the mulm to evenly disperse around the tank. Corals seem to be responding positively to the entire zeolit program.

My thoughts on the avast vibe is it is well worth it. Buy the kit that you build yourself, save some money, and get the satisfaction of knowing that I put together a critical piece in my system. This kit is well thought out design wise and works well. My only suggestion would be to include a couple of mesh bags to hold the smallest zeo's, not necessary but would be a nice gesture. Buy it, you won't regret it!

Just saw this for the first time. Was thinking it was for good feelings. Then I saw the springs, ah vibrating, got it.

So you're suggesting to put the smallest pieces in a mesh bag?

I just changed it again today and decided to forgo the mesh bag because I just unhook and dump it into a 5 gallon bucket. It is the easiest way to change it out.

What size vine would you recommend for a 180 gallon? SPS dominant tank with approximately 110-120lbs of love rock and 40 gallon sump.

Im looking at a used 1.5l avast vibe, but it sounds like they dont make a 1.5l and its actually 2l?

I would avoid avast. Used it for 7 months then turn it in to chaeto reactor. The vibration end up breaking down the zeolites and spiked my silica and AL. PRS is the way to go if you ask me.

1) According to the 1L of zeolite per 100G of water rule, eventually I'll need 2 full liters of media. The Avast reactor comes in a 2L and a 4L size. Do I need extra room, or will a 2L media chamber work ok completely full? It seems like if I try to fit them all in, there wont be much room for "vibing".

2) I read somewhere (One of the reviews on BRS about the 4L KZ reactor), "Don't get the vibe, just don't do it. It grinds the stones and doesn't mulm them properly". Has anyone found this to be true? I only see positive experiences with it here on the these forums.

Sorry for the crosspost. I posted this in general, but realized it probably belongs here.
Thanks!
