Alex G,
Any insight on why kz changed the zf dosing so dramatically?
New guide state 1 week a month daily then 2 3 times a week.
Doesn't this seem excessive especially if we compare it to what we been considering in the past where zf almost going obsolete with its link to cyano AMD other algae...
Dosing continuously for a week every month look scary...
What do you think?

That would be super helpful.
Am really worried new comers will follow this to the letter and we will start dealing with cyano and algae threads all over the place lol

Thomas has told me that he had better results with the higher dosage, generally less issues with films or cyanos, improvement of the biology and better coral coloration.

Maybe worth a try, anyways the old dosage is still working well.

that's very interesting. my guess is that this help with Cyano when reef is out of NO3/PO4 balance where one of the 2 is zero. adding ZF will increase nutrient a bit and help the nitrifying bacteria outcompete the cyano.
that's very good know. thank you Alex.

At the beginning you might experience some kind of a while film but after blowing it off the rocks / sand once it should not come back.

Oh interesting. You mean a white film might form? Not brown?

Exactly, Thomas described it as a white film, should be anything bacteria based.
