5 fish, but shouldn't the bio pellets reactor take care of the NO3-; its not working at all
I am frustrated since I did not go zeovit on this tank just to give the bio pellets a try, however no water change is lowering the nitrates.
Am I producing nitrates somewhere in the tank constantly?
I am getting by 60G zeovit tank ready, I changed my first zeolites stones yesterday, I measured the nitrates on this tank and is about 20ppm with no fish and no corals.
I guess I could transfer all my corals to this tank and give them a chance, but I am not sure if they will survive.

I have one marine pure block and also marine pure bio blocks, which is what I have been using for filtration.

I just need to be sure, you keep your corals and your fish in a different system at the moment waiting to transfer them to a additional 60g system which has a NO3 level of 20 mg at the moment. Beside a skimmer and the marine pure blocks you do not use additional filtration material on that system ?

Was this system started from the scratch and when have you started it ?

Was the system cycled with live rock ?

The 60 gallon is the one getting zeovit upgrade, I don't have any corals but the tank did have corals and fish when I purchased it and transfered everything to my 90 gallon tank, this tank Nitrates are ok 20ppm at the most
I have the nitrate issues with my 90G which is being running 2 years, using bio pellet reactor.
Originally I started this tank with miracle mud on the fuge and it actually worked pretty well with nitrates at about 10ppm, I also use culerpa macro alge and chaeto;
when it was time to change half of the miracle mud I installed the bio pellet reactor and it worked well, but when I removed the other half of the miracle mud the bio pellet reactor stop working.
My nitrates do not go lower than 40ppm even with larger water changes.
I am not sure what is the relation between the substrate and the bio pellet reactor if any correlation at all
I am pretty close to start moving my corals to the 60 gallon,
I did my first zeolite change, and continue with regular zeovit dosing

Just like to cross check, the new system (60 US gallons) does have a NO3 level of 20 mg now ?

What is the actual PO4 level of the 60g system ?

I have not measured the PO4 levels yet but they should be low since I don't have any fish in the tank at the moment

It would really be interesting to know the PO4 level. From the view of the coals a NO3 level will not kill them so you might be able already to transfer the first test coral to see how it is doing as long as PO4 is really low.

Thanks G. Alexander, I measured both tanks PO4 levels and both are close to zero, I only have the ATI test kit and the color is almost yellow on both tanks;
I am already transferred three SPS coral frags.
At the moment I am dosing Zeostart 0.6ml twice, morning and evening.
Zeobak 2 drops twice a week.
What should I start dosing since I introduced corals?

Nitrate even high nitrate is not toxic but where is it coming from. Do you have any die off /./.... snails fish or urchins. GO threw your tank if you can.
Personally I transfered my tank to my new tank in three months but I did not have a nitrate problem. The old tank suffered from old tank syndrum ... would not stop growing algae.

THere are a lot of nice products from zeovit personally I like flat worm stop and coral booster I would for get sponge power and bak just try to keep things stable and as long as your corals are healthy they will grow.

For a total system volume of 60 US gallons your ZeoStart dosage is to high. I would recommend you to dose as posted over here:

http://www.zeovit.com/forums/showpos...59&postcount=4

Lets first get nutrients under control before starting to dose additional products.

60 Gallon zeovit tank update;
its been two months since I started zeovit system on this tank, now all the parameters seem to be stable
Alk 7.7
Ca 420
NO3- 10
Phosp 0

moved all my SPS corals to this tank from my 90 Gallon, everything seems to be working fine, all corals show polyp extension.

Dosing

Zeobak every Wednesday two drops
Zeofood every Friday two drops
zeostart 0.26ml twice (morning and night)

water change every week 10 gallons.
will post pictures soon

60 Gallon zeovit system update.
I have not seen much improvement in my system, my nitrates continue at the 20ppm level even though this tank does not have fish and I don't feed the tank, I am only dosing zeostart 0.23ml twice;
I have now all my surviving SPS from my 90G tank, most are thriving
but my birdnest is bleaching.
Ca at 420
Alk at 7.7

I stopped dosing Zeobak and zeofood to see if I could get my nitrates lower but no change regardless of how many water changes I make.

Am I doing something wrong or do I need to wait longer for the system to stabilize?
