Default Zeovit 14 days cycle red sea reefer 250

Hi. I am new to the Zeovit forum. For the short story I have been keeping reef tanks for the last 10 years. I have decided to implement the zeovit system in my new Red Sea Reefer 250. Cycle has started 4 days ago with no algae appearance and process is going smoothly. I have a net volume of 55 gallons and 0.5L of zeolites in a vertex reactor. Dosing 2 drops of Zeobak, 2 drops of Sponge Power and 0.4ml of Zeostart once a day every morning. Water is very crystal clear and happy so far. Skimmer is on and flow is good (return and MP10). Two Ecotech Radion XR15Pro gen 4 for lighting and seem plenty of light.

So just one question so far. When I will be adding the Zeovit Carbon on day 10 can I place the carbon in a TLF reactor or should I leave it in a mesh bag before the return pump? What are your thoughts? Thanks!

If you use a reactor only use half the amount and change the media every two weeks

yes I am following exactly the guidelines as provided in the link... 14 days cycle.
Daily dosing regimen as follow (in the morning):

- 2 drops of ZeoStart3 (near reactor)
- 2 drops of Sponge Power
- 0.4ml of Zeobak (near reactor)

Vertex reactor has 0.5L of Zeolites

AM I CORRECT? I am on Day #6

Thanks!

Net water volume should be about 80 liters so I would recommend to continue as follows:

ZeoBac – 2 drops daily until day 14, than 1 drop 2 x weekly
ZeoStart – 0.2 ml 2 x daily
SpongePower – 2 drops daily

Run 0.5 liters ZeoVit with a water flow of ~ 200 liters per hour continuous flow.

80 liters is about 21 Gallons. The Red Sea 250 is 65 gallons of estimated 55 gallons net. Do I need to increase dosage? Please advise. Thanks

For a net water volume of 55 US gallons continue dosing as follows:

ZeoBac – 2 drops daily until day 14, than 1 drop 2 x weekly
ZeoStart – 0.2 ml 2 x daily
SpongePower – 2 drops daily

Run 0.5 liters ZeoVit with a water flow of ~ 55 US gallons per hour continuous flow.

G:

Great Thanks! That's what I have been dosing for the last 9 days. Brown spots have been developing on the sand surface. Is it normal? Wednesday I will be transferring 2 chromis and a monti plate. I will check on the foundations dk, Ca and Mg... Tested Amonia and nitrites at 0 yesterday, using Salifert test kits... should I change dosing regimen because of the brown algae on the sand? (not on the live rock). Will be adding the Zeo Carbon as well. Please advise, thanks,

Some kind of algae are normal for the cycle and usually disappear later. I recommend you to keep the dosing regimen as it is at the moment.

Thanks. Should I start dosing other zeo products than the basic 4? since few corals are in? Also the skimmer is not yet producing any skim. Is it normal? last when should I do the first water change? Thanks!

No nothing else at the moment, just the basics.

Default Hi. I have completed the 14 day cycle

Hi. I have completed the 14 day cycle per the zeovit
Guidelines. Had a few fish and corals transf廨廥 from the old tank. Couple of questions:
- I am going to cut on dosing basic 4 per the new regimen. My nitrates are at 0 and phosphates at 0.07. When should
I start dosing the other additives.
- when should I change the Zeolites?
- when should I perform the first water change?

Thanks!

At the moment just continue with the basics, usually additional products are not necessary for the first couple of month. Lets see how your corals are dong if you start to stock the system.

First exchange will be after 4 weeks, replace 50% of the material. After each exchange dose Zeobac daily for 10 days, than 2 – 3 x weekly as usual. About 4 weeks later replace 50% again, than the changing interval can be lengthen to 6 weeks, replace 90% of the material than and for the future.

You can start with the regular water changes if the first 4 – 6 weeks have passed.
