Hi Peter

Would recommend you like you have already mention to start as follows:

http://www.zeovit.com/forums/showpos...60&postcount=7

Use 1 liter ZeoVit with a constant water flow of ~ 400 liters per hour through the reactor.

Initial dosage:

ZEObak: 20 ml
ZEOstart: 40 ml
Sponge Power: 12 ml

On day 4 continue with:

ZEObak: 4 drops daily
ZEOstart: 0.4 ml 2 x daily
Sponge Power: 4 drops daily

…until day 14, than continue dosing as follows:

ZEObak: 4 drops 3 x weekly
ZEOstart: 0.4 ml 2 x daily
Sponge Power: 4 drops daily

Please keep in mind that your system will need much more time for the cycle which can be up to a couple of month as you just use dry rock.

A NO3 level of 2.5 mg is really not a issue, do not worry.

Alexander,

Thanks for your reply, After 4 weeks of dosing (that one you recomen above). I need to change 90% ZEOlite. After change should I dose:
"On day 4 continue with:

ZEObak: 4 drops daily
ZEOstart: 0.4 ml 2 x daily
Sponge Power: 4 drops daily"

or just keep:
"ZEObak: 4 drops 3 x weekly
ZEOstart: 0.4 ml 2 x daily
Sponge Power: 4 drops daily"

Thanks

Continue dosing after the exchange as follows:

ZEObak: 4 drops daily for 10 days, than 2 x weekly
ZEOstart: 0.4 ml 2 x daily
Sponge Power: 4 drops daily

You can additional try to soak the zeovit material in RO water for 2 days before adding it to the reactor, replace the RO water one or two times per day.

Instead of 90% just replace 50% for the first time, 4 weeks later 90%.

I'm on a day 7 and need to buy another Ammonia test as:
Seachem tag (https://goo.gl/images/YqU8kZ) showing SAFE <0,02
Salifert Ammonia test showing <0,10
My NO2 drop from 3 to 1 (in 2 days time) with Salifert test
My NO3 is still very high: 80 with Salifert test

I hope NO2 will start dropping now and then NO3 will drop as well.

Link to thread: http://zeovit.com/forums/showthread.php?threadid=36657

If all goes well you can dose SpongePower every other day if the first 4 weeks after the cycle have passed. Continue dosing daily will not cause issues.

Thanks for reply.
I will keep going bot for now on (day 9) my parameters still poor.
Ammonia = 0 (Salifert, API, Seachem tag)
Nitrites = 0.70 (Salifert)
Nitrates = 80 ???? (Salifert)

Phosphate = 0.87 (by hanna)

I'm not gonna put any life at day 10 as parameters not good at all. I just thinking what is wrong. ATI FIji white sand I clean as best as I can so it should be ok.
Pukani rocks might be a problem as it dificult to clean them.
Should I carry on to day 14 any way and then do a water cheange (about 20%)? Or just leave for more days to see what is happening?

My NO3 as you remember was high from a start - 25

Hello Peter, nutrients are still high, the tank needs additional time, I would also wait before adding animals but this can be a longer process as mention above in this thread.

I would recommend to continue as planned, start with the regular water changes around week 4.

G.Alexander

I'm on a day 16 of cycle:
I just checked my parameters:
26 October 2017
Temp:25,5 C
Salinity: 1,026 SG
PH: 7,7
Alk: 8,6 dKH
Ammonia: 0
Nitrite NO2: 0,6
Nitrate NO3: 90
Phosphate PO4: 0,81

I re-done a test tonight 28 October:
Temp: 26 C
Ammonia: 0
NO2: 1,5 (go up again)
NO3: 90
PO4: 0,61 (go down)

Is it normal for NO2 jumping and lowering like that?
I got brown algae in a tank now. Didn't put any animals yet.

Do you think I can put clean up crew? Or it is not safe for them?

To be honest I have never measured NO2. Lets wait a couple of days before adding snails to see if the algae are getting worse.

Hi Alexander.
After 5 days my algae looks good see picture.
I didn't add snails. Still waiting for better parameters.

1 November 2017 test:
Temp: 25,7
Salinity: 1,026
PH: 8,0
Alk: 7,7
Ammonia: 0
NO2: 1,5
NO3: 90 still to high
PO4: 0,55 (going down as algae)
Ca: 440
Mg: 1320

Should I switch light off for few days? Radion XR30 G4 on 40% max during a day.

I fear this will not have much of a positive impact but you might reduce the lighting period for some time. If you switch it off completely and restart it later I expect you will just get massive algae growth.

Are the nutrients coming from the rocks ?

I do not know where nutrients coming from. I got dead Ati Figi sand and rocks. Rest is normal equipmemt: skimmer, zeolite reactor, filter socks. They have to coming from pukani rocks.
I,m planning do a 10% - 15% water change as it too much for a system. NO3 -90PPM.

Any idea what I can improve to help system? I do not want add live rock to a sump but if it help, I might think about it. I use Pure Marine Block 8x8x4 so it should be plenty space for bacteria.
