Default Cyle A Zeovit Tank

Hi Alex,
Just want to update u the current status.
Brownish algae are gone within 2 weeks of cut off AA completely and reduce Zeofood to 1 drop. I believe the AA dosing was problem in my case. The color is gaining ok (not so strong because the tank is still young).
Any dosing need to adjust accordingly?
also do u think adding more bio load with increase feeding will help?

Corals looking great, is this the dosing regimen you use at the moment ?

Hi Alex,
Yes, i followed your recommend doses with some modification as follow.

Start: total 0.16 ml x2/day --->adjust to total 0.2 ml x2/day (1 ml/time with automatic doses and automatic shakes x2/day)
Bak: 2 drops 2 x weekly
Food: stop dosing it for some time until the brown film has gone ( i adjusted to 1 drop 2x weekly)
SpongePower: 2 drops 2 times/week
CV: 2 drops x2/week
Poh extra special: 1 ml x2/week ( I adjusted to 1.72ml x2/week)
AA: stop dosing it for some time until the brown film has gone
K balance tab : if K+ level is lower than 380 mg
Iron tab: remove it for some time until the brown film has gone (still keeping it running)
That's all product i own.

I have 2 clownfish, 1 blue hippo tang, 2 chromis, 1 6 line wrasses. I feed them moderately once a day with pellet foods, sometime frozen mysis shrimp. I'm also considering of feeding coral food like reef chilli, coral frenzy 2x/day consistently on a certain day of the week( used to feed them whenever i remember during the week ).

Any thought? Thank you

Thank you, your corals are looking healthy and from the pictures I would also say nutrient concentrations are stabile low.

For a net water volume of 43 US gallons 2 x 0.2 ml ZeoStart is to much, is there any special reason why you dose this quantity ?

Can you also please post a full tank shot and Update the basic water parameters including PO4 and NO3 ?

There is no special reason, i see recommend doses of start 3 on label is 2ml per 250 us gallon and i only take lowest one of 1.5ml per 250 us gallon -> total ~0.25 ml( is there something wrong with my calculation) is it too much ?

Actual water parameters.

Salinity: 34ppm
Ca: ~450
Kh: 8.2
PO4: 0
NO3: 0
Potassium: 380
Mag: 1290
Temp: 79.2 F

Thanks
Jay

I would recommend to just dose 0.16 ml ZeoStart 2 x daily for a net water volume of 43 US gallons.

Water parameters are fine, just the Ca level should not go higher, ~ 400 mg would be ideal.

Hi Alex,
I'm not sure if my system is still not mature enough to get deep color or something else related to dosing but my coral is still just a little pale in color, they have very good polyp extension and grow . Below is my current dosing schedule.

Start: total 0.16 ml x2/day
Bak: 2 drops 2 x weekly
Food: 2 drops 2x weekly
SpongePower: 2 drops 2x weekly
CV: 2 drops x2/week
Poh extra special: 1ml x2/week
AA: 2 drops 2x weekly
K balance tab. Iron tab in reactor.
CA: 400
KH: 7.8
MG: 1350
Nitrate: 0
Phosphate:0
I dont have any problem with brown algea.
What do you think? Any suggestion?
Thank you

Lets try to do two water changes each 20% within a week first before adjusting the dosing regimen.

Tank is 6 months old ( started with dry rock) , do u think its still too soon for deep coloration ?

Would recommend to keep the dosing as it is, with the additional water changes you will refresh consumed / missed / accumulated elements in a balanced way if this is the reason.

Hi Alex,
I feel like my coral is starving thats why they dont get good color, i'm thinking of feeding reef chili, reef roid mixed with mysis to feed them and fishes everyday (after 2 times 20% water change within a week) but not sure if it's necessary or AA,CV,Poh special and SP is good enough?
