Default my new thank....

my tankk..............

1. Gross water volume of your complete system (incl. sump etc.) - 63 US gallons (240 litre more or less)
2. Net water volume (incl. sump etc.) - 54 US gallons (205 litre more or less)
3. Are you using a CaCO2 reactor or other technique No
4. Are you using a PO4 reactor (how long, how long ago, etc.) NO
5. Are you using Ozone NO
6. Are you using UV NO
7. What skimmer are you using (type, rated water volume) Vertex 130
8. What are your actual PO4 and NO3 levels - PO4 0,01 with martini instruments and 0,0 with nyos test NO3 0,0 salifert test
9. What are your actual Ca, Alk and Mg levels CA 380 KH 7,5 MG 1410
10. What filtration method do you use (refugium, DSB, Miracle Mud, etc.) Nothing
11. Type of light (Watt, color temp, how old, etc.) easy led acquatlantis n.4 bar 2 marin reef+2 marin blu
12. What corals do you keep - nothing yet
13. Tissue color (light or dark) - --------
14. How long has the tank been running - 35 days
15. Why do you want to use the ZEOvit system new experience color of coral
16. Any supplemental dosing (type, amount, why, etc.) nothing
17. Live rock (how much, how old, etc.) 17 kg
18. Any present problems - not in this moment
19. Problem description (tissue loss tips, tissue loss base, diatom bloom, algae, etc.) nothing now
20. What test kit do you use (how old, recently switched, etc.) nyos, salifert, fauna marin
21. Present dosing, amounts and intervals (ZEOvit, ZEObak, ZEOfood, ZEOstart, ZEOspur2, etc.) Ive started following the advice of the Italian guide..as you know in my recent post I focused about the mistake on this guide, in particular on the dosage of zeostart3.. anyway Im using only zeolit on apposite reactor( 0,5 L), carbon (1,70 ), zeobac and zeostart (dosated in a wrong way as Italian guide)
22. Other water parameters and water stability (salinity, temp, etc.) salinity 35, temperatrure 26-27 (very hot in this moment here)
23. Which salt brand do you use korallenzucht salt

Thats the story of my thank:
I took the rocks from my last thank and I moved to the new one changing the whole water and for the new water I used all korallenzucht salt, the quality of the rocks is very good. The last tank was for lps and it was in very good condition using the EQUO method with very low level of PO4 and NO3.
Im starting the new thank for having only sps coral.

Now some question:
In this moment no animals inside the tank.
As I said for the first month I wrong the dosage of zeostart3 following the Italian guide. I used 0,8 for every day, Can I have problem for this, can I have did some damage to the tank? The level of nutrient seems perfect (PO4 0,01 with martini instruments and 0,0 with nyos test NO3 0,0 salifert test)..
3 days ago I did the first change of zeolite and carbon and Im continuing with zeobac (2 drops every other day for the fisrt 2 weeks after zeolite changes) and zeostart3 ( 0,4 everyday, 0,2 in the mornig, 0,2 in the evening).
When can I start to introduce fish and corals ?
Better first fish or corals ?
How many fish can my tank keeps?
I start to introduce corals how many for the first time ?

Is it possible to use, for Ca MG and KH, the powder introducing the quantity everyday (also divided in two times) ? or it will damage the coral ?
My bigger doubt are about the supplement for corals..can you give me how to start (product and dosage)..I did not yet choosen the corals Ill introduce..

Tanks to everyone.
Massimo

Hello Massimo, the higher ZeoStart dosage should not have done any kind of damage to your system. Would recommend you to continue dosing ZeoStart with 0.2 ml 2 x daily now.

After the ZeoVit exchange I would recommend to continue dosing as follows:

ZeoBac – 2 drops daily for 10 days, than 2 x weekly
ZeoStart – 0.2 ml 2 x daily
SpongePower – 2 drops daily (if you already have the product).

Run 0.5 liters ZeoVit with a constant water flow of ~ 200 liters per hour through the reactor, additional 0.2 liters activated carbon passively flown.

Water parameters are looking good, so I would add the first test coral to see how it is doing, also a couple of herbivore like snails.

If the corals is doing fine you can also start to slowly add fish step by step. Would recommend to do this not to quick, also not to much fish at once.

Additional dosage at this stage is not necessary. Supplementing KH and Ca (Mg is usually no necessary) should be done as often as possible to keep especially the KH swings as low as possible.

thanks Alexander for the fast response.........

how much time have I continue to dose 0.2 ml of zeostart ?
when I have to start to dose as the guide say ? (0.4 more or less)

you say: After the ZeoVit exchange ZeoBac – 2 drops daily for 10 days, than 2 x weekly
this is only for this moment or always ?

I will take sponge power as son as possible, I hope tomorrow. Can I start to dose it at any moment ? how long ?
which is the reason to use sponge power in this moment ?

what do you mean exacltly with "the first test coral"......how many ? quantity ?
I have to start to dose other supplements with the corals ?

is it a good way to use the powder for Supplementing KH and Ca ?

thanks a lot.....

Massimo

After each ZeoVit exchange dose ZeoBac daily for 10 days, than as usual 2 x weekly.

A side effect of SpongePower is a positive impact to the biology, would recommend to dose it daily for the first 2 ZeoVit exchanges, than you might change to every other day.

Just add one coral to see if it is doing fine, if the coral is still looking good after 2 weeks you can start to add additional corals step by step. Other supplements are not necessary in such a young system.

Hi Alexander...
after the first period with a wrong dosage of Zeostart3 (caused by mistake on italian guide) I passed to the actual dosage, as you said:
ZeoBac 2 drops daily for 10 days, than 2 x weekly
ZeoStart 0.2 ml 2 x daily
SpongePower 2 drops daily (if you already have the product)

In the first period, with the wrong dosage, I had no kind af algae in the thank.
Since I started the new dosage in the low part of the thank and on the sand has appared green algae ( a pair of rock deeply covered)....

It has appened for the the new dosage of zeostart3 ?
any advice to solve the problem ?

I introduced the first frag of coral (seriatopora histrix) as you said. It seems in good condition 5 days.....

Po4 (Nyos test ) 0 - no3 (salifert test) 0

thanks a lot

massimo

belove 3 picture of the algae; i can confirm that they are, in particular way, on the rocks at the bottom of the tank, the rocks near the light seem go much better...

for what about the aslam question. i have a vertex 130 and skim wet constanly at 20 cm of depth

2 weeks ago' I introduced 3 mexican snails. at the beggining they were always around eating on the rocks. now it's 3 or 4 days that seems disappeared....I dont see them...

Thank a lot for any help

Massimo

Thank you for the pictures, looks like some green hair algae, bryopsis and macro algae. I would recommend to add herbivore like additional snails (~ 8 – 10), they should get rid of them soon.

Hi Massimo, a tang would be fine also however keep in mind your systems volume is really small for this kind of fish.

I would wait another week to see if the corals do improve, than you should be able to add others step by step.
