When do we use zeofood?
Can it replace sponge power?

If the system runs nutrient poor stabile and if corals tissue has become to get lighter ZeoFood can have a positive impact to coloration. Usually 1 drop / 25 US gallons 2 x weekly works well if you do not have issues with cyanos or other algae.

Alexander I have some issues going on.
I am having burnt tips on some corals for past 1 week.
In last one week only major change is I was letting my nitrate go higher to about 4-5 range. It usually used to run 0-1.
I have been feeding heavy lately.

So Ive been having a lot of cyano... and dinoflagellates, so what I did was stopped ZeoSponge for a month.
My dosing has been:
240gallon
Zeolite 2 lit with 200l/hr, change about 8 weekly.
Zeostart 2 ml/day via dilution spread through the day
Carbon change 1monthly.
My Alk has been rock solid 8- 8.5 for many months: no change
Calcium has been solid stable high at 600..... not sure why its high but its stable at that number for months.
Phos 0-0.001 stable for months.

So my impression is with ULNS, now I increased the nitrate so growth increased and not enough proportional increase in alk. And hence burnt tips, especially on acros that are fast growers.

So today what I did was :
1: Changes the zeolite in 5 weeks
2: increase zeolite flow to 400l/hr
3: changed carbon 1 month today.

Hoping to bring the nitrate down again and have the old balance.

The cyano and dinoflagellates issue is same....

Am I on the right track to fix the burnt tips?

The Ca level and the KH are both relative high, do you have a chance to cross check salinity with a different accurate instrument ?

Replacing the carbon and the zeovit at the same day is not ideal, try to do this on different days or with a week between the exchanges.

Can you post a couple of pictures from the affected corals ? A full tank shot and a picture of your sump would be good also.

Are you sure those are Dinos and was there anything you have changed a couple of weeks before noticing them ?

Can you please post a picture of the stuff ?

Check the flow in the area and turn off the light for a few days

Thumbs up

Stop the carbon source, reduce the lighting time, or turn off the lights. You can turn on the blue light for about one week (depending on the situation)

KZ CORAL SNOW everyday

KZ BAK mixed ZEOzym placed 8 hours to add, the dose corresponding to the agent Please refer to the kz specification, the actual operation can be consulted to G.

Hope to help you and recover health

The nitrate concentration is higher, reaching a range of 4-5, and, Phos 0-0.001, maybe it's an out of balance, [Zeostart 2ml/day, spread through the dilution of the day] This doesn't seem to be right because of your Po4 and no3, [Calcium stable at 600 or more] Please check and confirm the problem of the used chemical reagent again, and confirm the specific gravity

Do you have access to a microscope ?

Also does the stuff disappear while the lights are off in the night growing back quick if you switch on the light in the morning again ?

First of all, make sure it is not Dino. The more trouble the lights will bring.
