Hello Alex, from the pictures it looks like the corals do still show good growth. PO4 is 0.04 mg now, have you observed a increase in the last couple of weeks ?

Please also cross check your salinity measurement with a different instrument to make sure it is correct as all the basic water parameters are relative high.

Can you please also tell me how much ZeoVit material you have running and what exactly the flow through the reactor is (measured) ?

Any other changes in the last 4 weeks ?

G.Alexander

Hello! Thanks for the reply.

Yes they do grow well, you're right.
0.5 liters ZeoVit with a flow of ~ 50 US gallons per hour through the reactor and 100gr. of activated carbon passively flown. I didn't change that.

Salinity is checked with three different instruments all the time. Apex probe, digital refractometer and analog. It is 1.027 for sure.

The only one change that dino is gone and removed sand bed.
Also -4 fishes jumpers = less feeding now.

Jan 13th params:

Alk: 7.2
Ca: 400
Mg: 1320
K: 410
NO3: 7
PO4: 0.17

Do you plan to add sand again ?

Removing the sand has caused biological change in you system and the elevated PO4 level is the reason for the darker corals.

Do you already own BioMate ?

Would recommend you some smaller changes to the dosing regimen:

Sponge Power - 2 drops every other day
Coral Vitalizer - 4 drops 2 x weekly
Coral Booster - 2 ml 2 x weekly
ZeoBac - 3 drops 2 x weekly
ZeoStart - 0.22 ml 2 x daily
AminoAcid - 1 drop 1 x weekly
XTra - 2 ml 2 x weekly
BioMate - 5 drops 2 x weekly
B-Balance - 3 ml 3 x weekly
PIF – 2 drops 2 x weekly

If corals are getting to dark you can lower the quantity or lengthen the dosing interval of Coral Booster, AminoAcid, XTra and PIF.

Just to check - AminoAcid - 1 drop 1 x weekly we're going down from 9 drops a week to 1 drop a week just until po4 is down ? It is kind of a large adjustment.

Alexander, what is your thoughts about dosing NO3 in my situation please?

Don't you think if I will get no3 to 1-2 ppm is better ...
I mean NO3:PO4 ratio 2:0.08 is better than keep it 0:0.008 ?

I can just bump it with pure potassium nitrate while waiting po4 levels to drop.
Doest it make sense to you? The idea is to keep a more balanced ratio while waiting po4 to drop ... Thanks.
