Default *HELP* CB Overdose!

Hi, Everyone.

So my DoS decided (programming error on my part) to dump 200ml of Coral Booster into my 250 L of water volume tank. I just did a 15% water change with all of the salt water I have left. Going to make some more for another water change later! Also put in some fresh carbon.

Question, what should I watch out for? What adverse affects! I don't want to do a bunch of arbitrary water changes if an excess of CB is not dangerous or maybe it will only cause an algae bloom that will fade over time.

Let me know,
Joey

Hi Joey
I think you might get more than usual of green film algae on the glass, maybe on the rock and sand as well. Possibly corals will become darker.
I don't think that CB overdose will cause any losses in livestock.

Ok I'll look out for these signs! I imagine that if the corals become darker, they would eventually lighten up when it gets used up correct?

The algae won't bother me.

I do see this as Michal, at the moment hold dosing the product for a while until your corals are back to normal again. I would also do another 15% water change today and another 15% in the end of the week.

Update here, so far I haven't seen one negative impact. I do not have any green algae bloom, I do not have any browning corals, I do not have any corals expelling zooxanthellae or STN/RTN.

I guess I dodged a bullet here.

You're welcome. I guess my next question would be would you still do a 15% water change at week's end? Where did all of this excess CB go? I guess it got processed out?

Thanks,
Joey

Water change will not have any negative impact but as the situation has stabilized it is also not really necessary.

Sounds good. I did a small one today, only 2 gallons, but I do a 2 gallon every 6 days and it was due.

I did notice that one of my corals that had a few dead spots, grew over them really fast. I wonder if that's due to the coral booster.

It's possible.
When I introduced CB+FWS for the first time Alk/Ca consumption went up by 100% (dosed as described on the bottle).
I did not try to overdose it, but now since you mentioned...
