Hi Jordy

First of all I would recommend to download the dosing guide from:

http://www.korallen-zucht.de/files/z..._english-1.pdf

It contains a lot of useful information and will be helpful to get a feeling for the dosage.

First start with the basics products to decrease nutrients:

1. Place 0.8 liter zeovit in a Zeo Reactor. Water flow around 320 liters per hour. Connect the reactor pump to a clock timer and run the reactor pump with a 3 hour on / 3 hour off / 3 hour on interval. Please make sure the zeolite is not exposed to air while the pump is switched off. Clean the material daily. Leave the zeolite 4 weeks in the filter until you do the first change out. This is the first changing interval, others could be lengthen to 6 – 8 weeks.

2. Place 0.3 liters activated carbon in a filter sock and keep it in a passive water flow in your sump, changed every 30 days. Knead the carbon daily to keep the surface clean. Most users get perfect results with korallenzucht carbon.

3. Dose 3 drops ZeoBac daily for the first 2 weeks, flowed by a 2 – 3 x weekly dosage of 3 drops. Dose 0.3 ml ZeoStart 2 x daily (morning & evening). Dose those in front of the Zeo reactor pump while it is switched on.

Later on you could use the additional products for coral coloration. Adjust your skimmer to skim wet, keeping it clean to export as much as possible. Do a weekly water change of 5 – 10 % with a good salt.

With the system it is not recommended to use UV, would recommend to switch it off when you start with the system.

Basic water parameters looking good, try to keep them as stabile as possible close the NSW in the following ranges:

KH 6.5 – 7.5
Ca 400 – 420 mg
Mg 1250 – 1300 mg
K+ ~ 380 mg

For a nutrient poor environment K+ (potassium) seems to be a important element. I would recommend you to get a test kit for this element also, posting your results.

This is a start-up dosage which might have to be adjusted later.

Before you begin I would recommend to work on the TN problem, switching to zeovit will cause some environment changes which corals they are already stressed to not enjoy to much. Not sure how many corals are affected and how bad those issues are.

Thank you Alexander,

I forgot to mention that I do dose: fe and Iodine, when I start with zeovit I need to stop dosing these elements right?

I did test K+ with a Red Sea test kit, 410 it was. Don't know if this is a good test set?
Wich products should I need for the coloration and what salt would you recommend?

I'm going to work on the TN problem, hopefully the corals will do good soon again.

Greetings Jordi

Hello Jordi, would recommend to stop dosing Iodine and Fe when you start ZeoVit, you can use both later once if the system runs nutrient poor stabile. For the first couple of weeks you will usually not need additional products, just the products mention above.

Maybe we can see more if you post some good pictures of the affected corals ?

Hello Jordi,

at the moment I would recommend to stay with the products mention in the above post. You can use additional products later if necessary.

I am not familiar with the RedSea salt but I know they offer two different salts. Most use the one in the blue bucket, not sure if that is the salt you use. I have personally used korallenzucht salt.

Otherwise I can not see anything unusual at the moment, lets see if the TN at the affected corals does stop within the next couple of days.

Doing 3 water changes each 10% within a the next 8 days is what I would do additional.

Hello Alexander,

I'm not using zeovit yet.

I've just ordered:
Vertex zeovit reactor 1,5 L (korallenzucht reactor is to big for my tiny sump)
Zeobac
Zeostart
Kz Carbon
1L zeovit
Kz salt

That's everything I need right? Or do I need some other products?
Hopefully everything will be delivered soon, is the only thing I can do now just the 3 water changes to try to get corals back at normal health?

Greetings Jordi

Alexander,

I just did test potassium and it seems the be very low, I did measured it 2 times and both times it was below 320, can this be also the problem of coral bleaching? The last time I did test it was 410 so it dropped very quick.

Greetings Jordi

Hello Jordi, yes indeed, I would try to dose K-Balance Strong for a couple of days to see if the corals do respond positive.

Would recommend to dose 3 ml 3 x daily (morning / noon / evening) to see if the level goes up. Make sure to have a minimum dosing break between the additions of 2 hour.

Hello Alexander,

I could only get the pohl's k-balance not the STRONG, should I stay with the same dosing: 3ml 3 x daily?

Greetings Jordi
